I totally love the culture of Louisiana, and this is one of the main reasons that I chose to read, The Scars We Choose. But when I read the line, “Come ‘ere,â €bebe,” I could hear Ms. Pinkie Perideaux, a character in this novel, saying “bebe” in her Haitian Creole accent.â €If you are familiar with the Bayou State, then you know what I am talking about.
This prequel is unbelievable!!! Set in Waycross, Georgia, the Duncan brothers have made a name for themselves and are highly respected. But the drama begins when Miss Bettie, their mother, is kidnapped and found dead, but only Lou believes that she is still alive. I will not to write anymore because I do not want to reveal any spoiler alerts!!!
